When you are travelling it is often the most advisable course of action to utilise a car hire firm. This however creates problems in itself as you must look for the best deal, the most suitable vehicle and the insurance costs of hiring a car. Below is a brief summary of rental tips that can make your car hire experience that much more enjoyable and stress free.
When choosing a car to hire it is important to recognise what you need the vehicle to do. If you are heading on a family holiday with kids in tow and a hefty amount of baggage a larger model is advisable but if you are looking for a vehicle that will save you the most money on rental fees and fuel, a smaller model may be desirable. In addition if you are looking for a vehicle that will be environmentally friendly you may want to hire a hybrid car. You should also consider your own driving ability, if you can only drive an automatic, be sure to make this clear when you are booking the vehicle.
If you are booking for a short period of time one of the major rental companies are usually best. For longer periods however finding a smaller local company can result in great rates. The problem with using smaller companies however is that their support services are usually less widespread. Major companies normally have deals with break down services that are rarely included with smaller companies. It is always advisable to shop around for the best deal as rates vary immensely depending upon the type and time of hire as well as the extras that are included in the contract.
As part of your shopping around it is always advisable to ask the car hire companies whether they grant discounts. Discounts can normally be assigned to frequent flyers and specific credit cards. In addition if you are booking online there is normally a discount available, with some companies this can be as much as ten percent. If you use car hire services regularly a great way to save money is to join the loyalty club, normally it is free to join and the privileges and preferential rates can be considerable.
When renting a vehicle it always advisable to read the terms and conditions of the contract carefully. Try to understand whether any charges will be applicable if you have to cancel, whether the charge at time of booking will have any charges added when it comes to hiring the car and how long the car will be held if you are late arriving. Whenever you book it is always advisable to receive a confirmation number, with online booking this will be sent to you by email but if you are booking over the phone, ensure that you receive it so you have proof of your purchase, the last thing you want is to turn up at the desk to find out that they have given your car to someone else.
When you pick up the car remember that by picking up away from the airport you can save yourself money. Additionally check your own motor insurance premium to see if you will be covered, if you are you will not have to take the additional insurance premiums. Of vital importance is to check over the car carefully for damage before you leave, if you find any alert the company so you are not charged at the end of the hire period.
By following this advice you should be able to hire a car with the minimum of stress and ease. By being conscientious in your research it is always possible to gain a great deal. Study the contracts and be sure to barter, ultimately this will lead to an attractive deal at the best rate.

A used car which is also known as a second hand car or a pre-owned car is a vehicle that is previously owned by one or more owners. Used cars are sold through a variety of franchise and independent dealers and rental car companies. Individuals can also purchase and sell used cars through online and newspaper classifieds.
Purchasing a used car can save a lot of money. A new car depreciates fast in a few years and is worth only about 50-60 percent of the original price after as short period as three years. It is true in general that a new car requires less maintenance initially and during the original warranty coverage period offered by the manufacturer, most of the problems would be covered. Still, buying a new car will not always mean that the buyer will get complete perfection. Buying a used car still involves a bit of a risk – there is no guarantee that the car has been properly maintained. There may be some hidden problems in the engine or automatic transmission that may not be felt when the car is test-driven while buying. Maintenance costs are typically higher for a used car. However, used cars are more preferred these days but some care is exercised before buying. Moreover many car manufacturers offer used cars of previous models under Certified Pre-owned programs where the used cars are inspected and reconditioned and packed with additional warranty coverage.
Steps to buy a used car:
Step 1: which type of car? Typical factors are how may people are to be transported, distance to commute, safety features, mileage, accommodating in the parking area or garage.
Step 2: How much can be afforded? Down payment in a single stroke or determining a realistic monthly payment that will fit into the budget is an important first step.
Step 3: Used car bargains. The price of a used car is based on its brand name, condition, mileage, performance and reliability. Hence, prudent bargaining should be exercised.
Step 4: Research the prospective used car. An online research can also be looked for used cars in the desired price range by reading car reviews, buying tips and safety ratings. Car buying tools which provide model information and side by side feature comparison can be examined. Physical inspection of the interiors and exteriors can be carried out in the first place to satisfy that all the interior components lighting system and tyres are in good condition. Any defective items requiring replacement after the purchase will increase the cost of the used car. A review of the vehicle history report can indicate the details like history of registration, odometer readings, major accidents, lease or Finance details, stolen and warranty check. A check on the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) can be made by comparing the VIN with the title to the number on the car to make sure they are identical. The VIN is usually located on the dashboard under the windshield, on the door, hood and engine.
Step 5: Finance for the car can be done through Cash, Bank loans or Financing through the dealer. Unless it is planned on purchasing by full payment in cash, it is suggested to get pre-approved financing and the cost of Insurance is also to be factored. Usually the interest rates on a used car will be higher.
Step 6: Used Car markets. Used cars can be bought from Private parties; new car dealerships used car lots and auctions.
Step 7: Test-driving. On a test drive, the aspects like Acceleration from a stop, Engine noise, and Hill-climbing power are to be checked.
Step 8: Negotiation. The foundation of successful negotiation is information. A thorough study on the price prevalence for similar type of cars should be known before buying.
Step 9: Closing the deal. A thorough review of the contract is required. The charges like cost of the vehicle, documentation fee, smog fee, smog certificate, sales tax and license fees are to be understood.
Lemon Law: <>
Lemon laws generally apply to new cars sold to private people. Used car lemon laws cover non leased cars bought from dealers. Some of the steps to avoid buying a lemon are as indicated below:
The VIN # has to be checked. There are possibilities that even a new vehicle might have been damaged or written off and not disclosed by the seller. Obtaining a report from authorized agencies like CARFAX (in Canada and the US), is recommended.
Confirmation in writing should be obtained that “there is no lien“on the vehicle.
An independent mechanical inspection is to be arranged.
All implied or expressed warranties are to be obtained in writing. This is required especially on an used vehicle as normally warranty will not exist. If there is a warranty, period and coverage of the same will have to be obtained in writing.
Salespeople are not mechanics. A copy of the report of the mechanical inspection completed by the dealer and signed by a certified mechanic is to be insisted rather than merely relying on a verbal mechanical report from a salesperson.

A huge amount of finance is involved in buying a new vehicle. Therefore, for most of the buyers, New Car Loans become inevitable. At the same time, your efforts should be to borrow the money at low rate and low costs, so that its repayment is never a burden. Hence, you must keep some basic things in mind to find such a loan.

Depending on your repayment capability and circumstances, these loans can be availed in secured or unsecured options. The secured loans enable in borrowing greater amounts, depending on value of the property that you have to pledge for collateral. The car it self can serve the purpose of collateral, while you enjoy driving it. Such a loan comes at low rate of interest. The unsecured loan is approved without collateral, enabling both tenants and homeowners to borrow smaller finance in the range of £5000 to £25000. However, these loans are known for higher interest rates. Repayment of both secured and unsecured loans is to be made in short duration of 5-7 years. Moreover, the lender will not give you an amount that is greater than price of the car, even if it is a secured loan.

You should also be prepared to make a good amount of down payment to the lender. In fact, a higher amount of down payment ensures approval of loan even for people having bad credit history of late payments, defaults, arrears and CCJs. you get the loan at low rate of interest as well. So, it is advisable to save money for the down payments before applying for these loans.

Make sure that you have extensively searched the interest for new car loans. Apply for the rate quotes in order to compare as many lenders as you can. Ensure that you compare the additional charges as well to find a suitable deal.

Introduction

Dreaming to get a new car and wonder how to get the best financing for it? While others are simply getting their new cars and buying it with whatever deal the dealer gives them, you know you can get better auto loan deal. Need a better auto loan help us a better deal for our dream with some preliminary steps?

Types

You can avail car need a better auto loan in two forms secured and unsecured. In case of secured car loan you have to put car as collateral against the loan, but for the second type of unsecured loan there is no such need. Though secured car loans will get the amount at comparatively lower interest rate there will always be the risk of losing your security.

Tips for better deal

Getting preapproved means that a lender looks at your credit situation and you are then given a credit limit and a blank check for your auto loan. All you need to do next is to find the car you want, and pay for it with the check.

In order to save even more money, though, you need to select a car or two that you want to buy in advance. You do this because you know that a particular make and model fit within the credit limit of the preapproved check. Once you have a car in mind, you then need to investigate what kind of prices you can find for it in the market, and what is the cost of the car.

It is a good idea to have a copy of your credit report with you when you see the dealer. Sometimes a dealer will try to tell you that you have bad credit and make you accept a higher interest charge because of it.

There are plenty of places on the Internet where you can find auto financing. It’s really sweet and fastest deal. When the contract is being filled out, make sure that you clearly understand what everything on it is for.

New car purchase is not that difficult to do as other people think. You only need to follow a certain game plan and stick to it and never allow your heart and bias to intrude in the process. What I am about to reveal are time-tested tricks and tips to give you the necessary leverage as against car dealers.
First in the list is for you to determine the fair price for your new car purchase. The heart of this step is how to get or identify a fair market price of the car you are interested to purchase. You can log on to websites providing features and options relating to the actual price of various types of cars. Then, come up with some notes about your findings.
After you have identified the fair market price of the car you want, you are now ready to move to the next step. This step involves securing free quotes from car dealers.
You can easily do this by logging onto the websites of companies offering car dealership and other related services. Do not be afraid if they ask you about some personal details like your name and email as these details will be used only for purposes of giving you a quote.
Representatives from the companies you contacted will contact you in no time and when you deal with them be honest and straightforward. Do not be swept away by their attractive offers and presentations but be focused on your goal.
Now, you are ready to consider trade-in offers. In relation to this step, your target should be: which of the two options you have will yield better gain for you. Will that be by trading your car with the company or by selling the car to a private person? With this in mind, you will have a guide when it is now time to decide.
The next step is to begin your negotiations with the companies. The dealer would like to know if you would be purchasing in cash basis or not. So, tell them you are thinking of buying the car in cash basis but nevertheless do not close the bridge for possible financing.
A great tip to remember is as much as possible never purchase a car based on installment basis as this would defeat your objective to save money.
Making new car purchases will prove to be a rewarding experience if you only know what to do. By following steps and keeping in mind your goal – to save money, that is – you will almost always get the best buy.
New car purchase in addition allows you to develop real-life wisdom as they are possible avenues where you can learn how to negotiate and deal with people who are experts in the field but walk away happy because you made a good deal.
With these tips in mind, you will not find it very difficult to strike a good deal with any company and thus make the most out of the sum of money you have.

When you’re looking at buying a used car for the first time, you will want to know if its value is what is being displayed or asked of by the dealer, and you will need to keep in mind that you may end up paying slightly over the valuation of a car the first time that you buy a used car. You will need to familiarize yourself with information and facts that will put you in a good position to be able to appreciate learning some used car buying tips and be able to negotiate with a dealer to get a better deal.Knowledge of what Cars are Really WorthWhen you are looking to find out the value of a car, it isn’t going to be easy to get an exact amount for the car, but you should be able to come up with an estimate of the car’s value, which should be quite close to the actual value of the used car. If you want to get a good deal when buying a used car and want to do this economically, then you should go into a dealer showroom having the knowledge and information about the value and worth of your car. Also, you should know how much you or anyone else should be paying for the car; this is known to many as the market price. You can ascertain the market price of a car through comparison of prices from different sources, there are many different price comparison sites out there to choose from and there will be reviews by people who have bought the model and cars which you are interested in. Here, you will also be able to look at their reviews and conclude whether it is a good deal at a certain dealership. If you are looking to secure a great bargain with the dealer, then you will need to have the relevant information when you go to meet any such salesperson, you will also need to have in mind the market price of the car and if the salesperson can offer you a competitive price.Budgeting HelpsYou will need a budget in mind when looking into buying a car economically, and you shouldn’t stretch beyond the price that you can afford to pay out for the car, you do not want to land yourself in a huge amount of debt, or not have extra money to spend on other things. Having a set budget will allow you to focus and overcome the urge to purchase a car because it is at a great price; you should be focusing on getting a bargain for your purchase, but not to end up in a huge amount of debt completing the process. So, when you do enter the dealership, you won’t succumb easily to their high pressure sales tactics and thus you will end up parting with less cash than they would have wanted.A Cheap Price Doesn’t Equal Low QualityI’m sure you will be looking for a great deal when you go out to look to buying a used car. But, buying a cheap car doesn’t mean you are going to end up buying a piece of junk that is worthless and unimportant. Also, it won’t mean that your motor will be of poor quality either. What I mean by cheap here is that you are buying a car at a lower value than it is actually valued on the market – it could be that the dealer is wanting to sell the car and will sell at such a low price because he knows you will buy the car, and he will sell it quickly, albeit at a lower price and commission. Even though you are getting a car at a great price, this doesn’t mean to say that you should compromise on the quality of the vehicle and because the car is of lower quality, you will probably end up paying out much more money in the long run with repair bills.Do Your ResearchBefore you go to buy a car, if you complete your research and homework – conducting research and analysis of your chosen car and others market prices – then you will be in a great position to negotiate with the dealer to get the best price available for your car. The salesperson will find it very difficult to take you for a ride and ‘pull the wool over your eyes’ and you will know the value and average current market price that your car should be selling at.Before going to the Showroom Make your Mind upYou will need to be sure that you have a clear picture of what you want to achieve by going to the showroom, and have restrictions on your budget and time that you will spend there. Do not end up buying something which you do not need because of an impulse decision.Don’t Appear DesperateIf you appear to be in desperation, then this will ultimately lead to you purchasing a car in desperation, which will lead to the salesperson playing on this desperation, which could leave you heavily out of pocket. You should never appear desperate to buy your first car, or when you are looking for tips on websites and forums, as this will affect your power to buy the right used car for you. Also, you should remember that going to a showroom and talking to a salesperson about buying a car is a negotiation, to ensure you get the best deal for yourself – you will be testing your negotiation skills. You should be able to purchase a cheap car, but, you will need to remember small details to check, such as the log book and mileage record. This will help you review the car’s age and need for previous repair, indicating whether the decision to purchase the car is a good one. When purchasing your first car economically, this doesn’t mean that you should spend very little money; what it means is that you should purchase a quality vehicle at the lowest price possible.

Always find at least three rental car companies to compare, although more will be better. Be sure to ask all the companies the same questions to get the most accurate answers. Most rental car companies will have websites online to find basic information, but it is best to call as local branches may have deals that are not advertised online.

2. When you call, be sure to ask about price, vehicle availability, as well as any specials that the branch has to offer. It is worth noting here, that many of these companies will have special arrangements with hotels, airlines or even warehouse stores.

3. You will want to ask about any special instructions that are required of you while renting the car, for example, filling up the gas tank or pick up and drop off times. Not adhering to these policies can result in fees.

4. Many companies that will rent a car to you will also be willing to either deliver the car to you or pick you up and take you to your rental. This service may require a fee, but can be worth asking about if you are flying to your destination.

5. The rental company may offer you insurance to purchase, however, your personal auto insurance may be all you need in the event of an accident with a rental car. Call your auto insurance agent and ask before paying extra at the rental counter.

6. There are a number of choices that are open to you when renting a car. Each class of car will vary in price and gas mileage; consider this when making your decision. While many companies may be willing to upgrade you, this is not always the case. It is wise to choose the car you want and hope for an upgrade than to reserve less of a car and be disappointed when an upgrade is not offered. New York Car Rental

7. Have a credit or debit card handy to reserve the rental car with, most companies will only guarantee a car with this assurance.
