    how to tell whether the oil quality is good enough..i mean viscosity etc..

    well..the oil settled at the bottom is no good.i guess he’s right.ciase when u start up, the oil lines and drillings in the enginge get the oil suppy( thats when the oil pressure light goes off indicating the right pressure has built up) and this is when u should check the oil level thats left in the sump. no authority..its just my guess…

    your suppose to run your engine to get the oil hot….then shut off and wait 15 mins for the oil to settle to the bottom.

    I wonder how the start-up is supposed to play into this. My line has always been to let the oil settle in the pan before taking a reading…
    You seem enthusiastic, though. I’ll give you that.
